Job Title:           Finance Supervisor
Location:           Manchester (M16)
Salary:              Up to £40,000 (DOE)
Hours:               Mon- Fri 08:00- 16:00/09:00 – 17:00hrs (Hybrid)
Contract:           12 Month FTC

                               
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a vibrant team, to work in a hybrid role as the Finance Supervisor to cover a 12-month FTC (covering maternity leave)

As a Finance Supervisor, your duties will be:
Operational Support
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager (FM) to support and guide the small operational finance team.
  • Provide day‑to‑day assistance to ensure smooth running of finance processes.
Month End Review & Controls
  • Review finance tasks completed by operational staff to ensure accuracy of month‑end figures.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Payment Authorisation
  • Check and authorise supplier and payroll payments in the absence of the FM.
  • Ensure all payments comply with internal controls and approval processes.
Monthly Financial Tasks
  • Post and reconcile company credit card transactions.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
  • Support additional month‑end or ad‑hoc finance tasks as required.

The successful Finance Supervisor will hold the following skills and experiences:
  • Completed or part‑completed financial qualification (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory finance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and pivot tables.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong financial analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
