Job Description
Location: Wolverhampton
Shifts: 8AM - 5PM Monday - Thursday (early finish on a Friday)
Daily Duties:
- Provide accurate estimates for new engineering products using Lean principles and best practices.
- Assist with planning and designing efficient manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Quote job requests, including lead times and costs.
- Introduce new manufacturing capabilities into the workshop.
- Collaborate with the operations team to program CNC Milling and Turning machines.
- Create and maintain process documentation aligned with company standards.
- Deliver components on time and within budget through effective New Product Introduction (NPI) management.
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and lean manufacturing principles.
- High-level CNC programming proficiency (Fanuc and Heidenhain languages).
- Expertise in both milling and turning, ideally up to 5-axis capabilities.
- Proficiency in Solidworks, Visi, and offline programming (VISI CAM ideal).
- Estimating CNC machined parts with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.
- Preparing cost estimates and detailed manufacturing documentation.
- Developing CNC/CADCAM programs for 4- and 5-axis machining centres.
- Problem-solving with a focus on permanent solutions for production challenges.
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
- Familiarity with ISO9001 & AS9100 standards.
- Experience with APQP/PFMEA methodologies.
