We’re looking for a Yard Engineer to join a busy power equipment depot, supporting the preparation, testing and repair of generator sets. This is a mainly yard-based role with occasional customer site visits.


Key Responsibilities:

 

• Prepare and service generators for the hire fleet
• Repair generators on-site as required
• Assist with loading/unloading equipment in the yard
• Drive forklifts in the yard (training provided if required)
• Deliver and collect generators and ancillary equipment using company vehicles
• Participate in the on-call rota as needed
• Synchronise generators on site when required
• Maintain safe, tidy workspaces and comply with Health & Safety standards
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience:

• Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent)
• OR completed apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• OR proven experience servicing diesel generators or maintaining plant machinery
• Strong fault-finding and communication skills
• Forklift licence preferred
