Electrical Maintenance Engineer 
Salary: up to 48k including 30% shift allowance & General allowance
Location: Sheffield
4 on 4 off 12-hour shifts including 2-day shifts & 2-night shifts

The Opportunity 
Our client is a leading global steel processing group, renowned for its expertise in manufacturing high-quality steel products. With a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, they deliver tailored solutions across diverse industries, backed by decades of experience and cutting-edge technology.
 
The Role 
  • Oversee all electrical, electronic, and process control work (planned and breakdown) on the plant
  • Provide first-line maintenance and breakdown support, including internal and external plant lighting
  • Manage electrical activities on shift, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards (Permit to Work, High Voltage Safety Rules, and Isolation procedures)
  • Perform electrical installation work in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
  • Assist in planning shift activities requiring specialised electrical expertise
  • Support and perform continuous improvement initiatives
  • Report and document plant breakdowns, contributing to Single Event Analysis (SEA) and implementing preventive measures
  • Maintain accurate engineering records in SAP
  • Work on or assist with mechanical systems as needed
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, including mentoring Electrical Apprentices
 
The Ideal Candidate 
  • Motivated to excel in demanding and challenging environments
  • HNC qualified or proven electrical experience in large steel making operations
  • Familiar with the melting shop environment and its processes
  • Strong practical Mechanical/Electrical hands-on skills
  • Skilled in leading, coaching, and developing team members
  • Experienced in continuous improvement programs, especially planned maintenance activities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledgeable about health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
