Quality Technician
Salary: Up to £35K DOE
Location: Leeds
Shifts: Week 1: 6am till 2pm, Week 2: 2pm -10pm

The Opportunity:
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Technician.
Renowned for working to some of the highest quality standards in the industry, the company are seeking a quality technician to support their ongoing commitment to excellence within the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality inspections, monitoring production processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.  You will work with advanced digital tools, automation and data analytics to ensure product quality consistently meets both company and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support calibration activities and carry out inspection tasks to ensure equipment and product accuracy
  • Operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM); experience with Mitutoyo systems is an advantage but not essential
  • Assist with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new product introductions, including the creation and development of required documentation
  • Provide support for internal and external tool trials and line trials, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Support the preparation and submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation
  • Investigate customer concerns, identify root causes, and support the resolution and response process
  • Assist in maintaining quality management systems and support the implementation of improvements in line with IATF 16949 standards
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Driving License is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the business
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage tasks effectively
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
  • Experience in interpreting engineering material standards and specifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Internal Auditor certification to the IATF 16949 standard
  • GCSE Grade 3 or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English
