Position: Brake Press Setter/Operator
Location: Tamworth, UK
Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Hourly Rate: £14.00 – £16.00

About the Role A long-standing and reputable manufacturing firm based in Tamworth is looking to recruit a skilled Brake Press Setter/Operator to support its precision fabrication department. This is a permanent opportunity offering a clean, well-organised environment, an early finish every Friday, and involvement in the production of high-spec components for the rail sector and related industries.

Role Summary In this position, you will be responsible for operating and setting Amada press brake machines to manufacture precision sheet metal parts. You will work from engineering drawings to ensure components meet strict dimensional and quality standards.

Main Duties
  • Operate and set up Amada brake press machinery to meet production requirements
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings and job documentation
  • Carry out quality checks using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Uphold workplace standards for accuracy, output, and health and safety
  • Assist with improving procedures and workflow when possible
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience operating and setting Amada or similar brake press equipment
  • Confident reading engineering diagrams and using precision measuring instruments
  • Able to perform accurate self-checks and work to fine tolerances
  • Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong focus on detail and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
