Infrastructure Lead – Highways & Drainage - £100k

Salary: ~£100,000 + Bonus + Route to Board Directorship
Location: Central London

An independent transport and infrastructure consultancy based in Central London, delivering high‑quality transport planning, infrastructure design, drainage and flood‑risk services. They work across a diverse project portfolio including major residential developments, garden villages, commercial schemes, city‑centre regeneration, walking and cycling infrastructure, bus‑priority schemes and complex multi‑modal design.
The business operates with a specialist, close‑knit team and a collaborative culture where senior staff remain actively involved in delivery. The consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Lead to head up and expand the infrastructure discipline. This is a key strategic position with a clear route towards Board‑level Directorship for the right individual.
You will lead a team delivering highway and drainage design, development‑led engineering solutions, active‑travel schemes and early‑stage technical input across a wide range of projects.

• Lead and manage a team of around 10 engineers and technicians
• Grow and develop the infrastructure division, including recruitment and resourcing
• Report directly to the Board, contributing to strategic growth and operational planning
• Provide hands‑on input to highways design, drainage strategy, SuDS and development infrastructure
• Oversee technical reports, feasibility studies, detailed design packages and engineering deliverables
• Develop strong relationships with clients, local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
• Support business development and work winning where suitable (not essential)
  
  

• Approximately 20+ years’ experience in highways, drainage and infrastructure engineering
• Previous experience in a similar leadership or discipline‑lead role
• Strong technical background and able to remain hands‑on with daily project delivery
• Skilled in team leadership, resource management and technical oversight
• Comfortable reporting at senior/board level
• Work winning experience beneficial but not required
