Machine Shop Supervisor / Engineering Foreman (manual & CNC)

Location: Wrexham

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum + Bonus + Overtime Opportunities

A well-established manufacturing company in the industrial sector is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor / Engineering Foreman to lead a skilled team within its precision engineering department.

The Role:

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a time-served machinist looking to take the next step into management while remaining technically involved. The successful candidate will oversee production planning, machine maintenance, and team management while ensuring high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Machining Expertise – Oversee and advise on the operation of manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, ensuring precision in low-volume production.
  • Production Oversight – Coordinate production schedules, capacity planning, and machine loading to meet customer demands.
  • Team Leadership – Support and manage a small team of skilled machinists, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Process Improvement – Work closely with design engineers, sales, and production teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Maintenance & Tooling Management – Organise machine maintenance and tooling orders, ensuring smooth operation with minimal downtime.


About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Time-served machining experience (manual & CNC) with a strong understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of precision machining, mould work, and rubber/polyurethane manufacturing.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and manage production schedules.
