Job Description

Our client, a leading organisation based in Glasgow, is looking to expand their finance team by adding an efficient and motivated Finance Assistant to join their Accounts Payable team. As an innovative and fast-growing company, they are seeking an experienced candidate to help support their existing finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance is correctly followed throughout internal procedures to guarantee prompt payments to suppliers and staff.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure direct debit accounts are kept up to date.
  • Assist with the team’s email inbox.
  • Process supplier invoices as they are received, uploading payments to banking platforms on a weekly basis, updating and creating supplier records
  • Generate purchase orders
  • Perform supplier account reconciliations.
  • Oversee a designated group of supplier accounts.
  • Provide weekly and monthly accounts payable reports.
  • Support audit requests and provide assistance with other reporting tasks.
  • Cash book assistance
 
Candidate requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Experience with reconciling accounts.
  • Proficient in uploading payment files to online banking systems.
  • Strong background in customer service.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressured environment and work to strict deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently / good initiative
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficient- Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail.
