Job Description

Fundraising Assistant
Location: Edinburgh
Type: Part time, 26 hours
Salary: £26k - £30k (Pro Rata at part time hours)

We’re working with a leading mental health charity to recruit a proactive and organised Fundraising Assistant. This role supports a busy fundraising and communications function, ensuring campaigns, events and supporter engagement activities run smoothly and to a high standard.

You’ll help deliver excellent donor care, manage accurate fundraising records, and produce clear reports to inform future activity. This is a great opportunity to gain experience across community, corporate and digital fundraising while supporting a cause that makes a real difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a first point of contact for supporters, donors and fundraising enquiries
  • Manage thank-you communications and supporter acknowledgements
  • Maintain accurate donor and campaign data within the CRM system
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events and community activities
  • Support the creation of campaign materials in collaboration with the communications team
  • Monitor timelines to ensure campaigns and events stay on track
  • Process donations accurately and in line with fundraising regulations and Gift Aid requirements
  • Produce income and performance reports for the fundraising manager
  • Ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with relevant standards and GDPR
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of fundraising systems and processes

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in fundraising, supporter care or a similar administrative role within the charity or not-for-profit sector
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases/CRM systems and fundraising platforms
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and financial information
  • Understanding of donor stewardship and supporter journeys
