Job Description

Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: South Ayrshire (Fully Office Based)
Contract: Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Dependent on Experience

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced team based in South Ayrshire. This is a temporary opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role will involve supporting the end-to-end payroll function for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process end-to-end payroll for a high-volume workforce, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Accurately calculate and process SSP, SMP, PAYE, and other statutory payments
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Handle payroll queries from employees and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Support with payroll reporting and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and internal procedures
  • Work collaboratively with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operation
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience
  • Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge, including SSP, SMP, PAYE and statutory calculations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally supporting a workforce of 1,000+ employees
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy and diverse team
  • Confident working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
