Job Title: Health, Safety and Security Manager
Location: Germany (Preferably near Bochum, but flexible within Germany)
Salary: Up to €75,000 + Benefits
Reporting to: Group Head of Safety and Security


My client is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Security Manager to provide leadership and risk management across all areas of safety and security for their German operations. The ideal candidate will develop HS&S strategies aligned with group objectives, ensuring the company has the optimum tools and routines to run safe and secure locations for colleagues and guests. This role requires implementing and ensuring adherence to procedures and processes while fostering a proactive safety culture.


Responsibilities for the role of Health, Safety and Security Manager include:
  • Ensure legal compliance in Health, Safety & Security (HS&S) and food safety across all German sites and support offices.
  • Anticipate changes in legal requirements and advise senior regional and country management teams on HS&S and food safety matters, including performance reporting, policy development, risk assessments, and action plans.
  • Identify and implement risk improvements to enhance HS&S standards, including the adoption of group standards.
  • Monitor and analyse HS&S costs at the regional and country level, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Establish relationships with country-level security and counter-terrorism authorities to enhance security measures.
  • Implement audit and inspection procedures for new or refurbished locations, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.
  • Ensure food safety standards are legally compliant and consistently maintained across all sites.
  • Investigate HS&S incidents, providing support and advice, and escalating issues to the group HS&S team when necessary.
  • Serve as a member of the regional Crisis Management Team, contributing to crisis preparedness and response strategies.
Requirements for the role of Health, Safety and Security Manager include:
  • Hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety for e.g. Arbeitssicherheit.
  • Knowledge of food safety and security systems, including alarm systems, CCTV, and incident monitoring.
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general IT literacy.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach, with strong communication skills.
  • People-oriented, with the ability to simplify complex matters and influence decision-making.
  • Experience in developing safety strategies and working with suppliers.
  • Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, and thrive in a less structured, dynamic environment.
  • Interest in the entertainment industry is a plus, contributing to a fun and engaging work environment.
