Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and growing organisation based in the Bristol area to recruit a Finance Director. This is a high-impact, strategic role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to drive performance and support the organisation in achieving its long-term goals.
The Role:
As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, taking full ownership of the finance function while acting as a strategic business partner. You will provide financial insight, challenge, and guidance to support effective decision-making across the organisation.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the finance team across all areas, including financial and management reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Deliver high-quality financial analysis and insight to support strategic planning and business growth
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance, and compliance across the organisation
- Partner with senior stakeholders to influence and support commercial decision-making
- Manage relationships with external partners including auditors, banks, and advisors
- Drive continuous improvement within finance processes and systems
You are a commercially astute and technically strong finance professional with a proven track record in a senior leadership role. You thrive in fast-paced environments and bring both strategic thinking and hands-on capability.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant experience operating at Finance Director level or in a similar senior finance role
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence business strategy
- Experience in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
