Payroller | Payroll Specialist | Professional Services | Essex

Sheridan Maine is working in partnership with a well-established professional services organisation based in Essex to recruit an experienced Payroller to join their growing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled payroller Essex based professional to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery across a diverse client or internal portfolio.

As a Payroller, you will be responsible for the full payroll lifecycle, including:

• Processing end-to-end payroll on a monthly/weekly basis
• Managing starters, leavers, and payroll changes
• Calculating statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP etc.)
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and RTI submissions
• Handling payroll queries efficiently and professionally
• Supporting pension administration and auto-enrolment
• Reconciling payroll reports and assisting with month-end processes

 We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented payroller with:

• Previous experience in payroll within a professional services or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Confidence in handling end-to-end payroll processing
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Experience using payroll systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, ADP or similar)
