Audit & Accounts Semi Senior

A leading independent accountancy practice in Birmingham is seeking a motivated Audit and Accounts Semi Senior to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone working towards their ACA or ACCA qualification who is looking to gain hands-on experience in both audit and accounts preparation.

You will work with a broad portfolio of clients across multiple industries, supporting audit assignments, preparing statutory accounts, and developing your skills in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and fieldwork for audit assignments.
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Prepare working papers and audit files in compliance with relevant standards.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and respond to queries.
• Work closely with managers and seniors to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• ACA or ACCA part-qualified or finalist.
• Previous experience in a UK practice environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet multiple deadlines.
• Experience with software such as CaseWare, Sage, Xero, or similar.

• Salary of £38,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
