What you’ll be doing
- You'll have the exciting opportunity to collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders, including engineers, asset management, and operations. This collaboration will shape fit-for-purpose solutions and positively influence the balance of innovation, value for money, and resilience.
- This role also requires extensive collaboration with and assurance of consultants and contractors supporting the delivery of often large, complex capital projects.
- You can support preliminary, outline and detailed design with our delivery partners.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations, as well as our policies, standards, and expectations, so that solutions are delivered safely and meet the technical and environmental requirements of the Project Brief.
- Your role will be crucial in supporting Thames Water’s ‘triple zero’ Health, Safety, and well-being vision. By conducting audits and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work, you'll contribute to our goal of zero incidents, zero harm, and zero compromise.
- Identifying and supporting the management of delivery risks and opportunities.
- Contributing to the creation of Project Briefs and responding to RFIS.
- Train and mentor team members in treatment processes, procedures, and compliance requirements to ensure effective and efficient treatment.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
- Bachelor's, preferably Master's, degree or other appropriate technical qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Recognised by a relevant professional institution as a chartered member or actively working towards chartered membership.
- Ideally, with several years of relevant experience in the water industry, and with experience in designing water treatment and/or wastewater treatment plants (including biosolids).
- Understanding of the water industry environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.
- Awareness of applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. (CDM 2015)
- You must possess technical knowledge and expertise within your discipline, as well as the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines to create fully operational solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Competitive salary from £52,000 to £62,000 per annum depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
- 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays)
