Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Part Qualified Accountant to be responsible for Management Accounting responsible for performing general accounting functions in addition to the communication and promotion of financial position, insight, governance and control within the business.
What you’ll be doing as a Management Accountant
- Support the recording, reconciliation and analysis of accounting activities and period end close activities in accordance with agreed close schedules and timetables.
- Perform reconciliations of various key control data including GL balances and supporting schedules including but not limited to receivables, payables, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
- Prepare and review journal entries, looking to automate and eliminate where possible.
- Provide Insight into results during period end close to the FP&A and Business Partner teams, relating to the key cost drivers.
- Working across the wider finance team to document, align and improve processes, to drive efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborating closely with the wider business stakeholders through development of strong working relationships to drive accurate general ledger and variance analysis activities.
- Production and preparation to support the regulatory accounting returns, including monitoring of external reporting requirements and researching accounting issues.
- Preparation of accounting returns for use by external stakeholders, including facilitation of related payments.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for analytics, through the agreed demand management framework to provide support to Business Partners for costs visibility, business case preparation and investigation into financial performance.
Working pattern: 36 Hours
What you should bring to the role
- Part Qualified ACCA/ACA or CIMA with Management Accounting experience
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of accounting principles, systems, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to work well as part of a team but also take ownership to complete tasks independently.
- Good Excel skills and experience using SAP would be beneficial
- Competitive salary from £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience
