Job Description
What you’ll be doing as a Strategic Systems Optimisation Analyst
You’ll be part of a specialist team working across strategic water assets such as reservoirs, pumping stations, and trunk mains. Your work will involve collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to scope and sign off on engineering projects, deliver calm system schemes, and support operational improvements.
- Supporting the identification and delivery of calm system operation schemes to improve water quality and reduce leakage, mains repairs, and customer complaints.
- Managing and analysing surge logging data to scope further optimisation opportunities.
- Assisting with the analysis of long-term network issues such as low pressure, low flows, and network resilience.
- Conducting desktop design and feasibility studies for operational improvements.
- Leading investigations into pressure issues and developing solutions to reduce customer complaints and improve C-MeX scores.
- Evaluating operational data and resolving basic data integrity issues.
- Supporting risk assessments for work impacting the clean water network.
What you should bring to the role
We’re looking for someone with a technical background and a passion for improving water systems. Ideally, you’ll have.
- A degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Science.
- A strong interest in hydraulic systems and clean water operations.
- Experience with GIS mapping software and an understanding of hydraulic principles is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A full driving licence and access to your own transport are desirable.
- Competitive salary from £45,000 per annum, depending on skills & experience
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
