Job Description
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive PMO/Programme Administrator to support the delivery of projects and programmes within Thames Water’s Transformation Portfolio. This exciting role offers the opportunity to be at the heart of delivering transformative initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
What you will be doing as a PMO/Programme Administrator
You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects within the
Thames Water Transformation Plan.
Working closely with the Programme Manager and delivery leads across the business, you will ensure strong governance, financial accuracy, and alignment across initiatives while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Main areas of focus will include:
Base location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court, RG1 8DB, or Camelford House, London, SE1 7TP
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What you will be doing as a PMO/Programme Administrator
You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects within the
Thames Water Transformation Plan.
Working closely with the Programme Manager and delivery leads across the business, you will ensure strong governance, financial accuracy, and alignment across initiatives while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Main areas of focus will include:
- Risk and Issues Management Collaborate with the Programme manager and Project Managers to identify risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and enhance overall portfolio resilience.
- Assurance of Programme and Project Management reporting and tracking of programme/project progress and performance from a quality assurance perspective.
- Administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.
- Success Metrics/Benefits Tracking: Assist in identifying, monitoring, and reporting financial and non-financial benefits, ensuring precise data for decision-making.
- Performance Reporting Coordinate monthly performance reporting, ensuring timely and high-quality inputs for performance review meetings.
- Roadmap and Project Planning Assist Project Managers in maintaining project-specific plans, Action, Assumption, and Dependency logs alongside organising meetings and taking minutes.
- Resource Planning: Assist in managing resource planning and allocation by consolidating inputs from project managers, including defined resource needs and capacity assumptions. Monitor resource utilisation and availability within projects to ensure efficient use and alignment with project priorities.
- Process Alignment Work across the Transformation office function and teams to drive consistency and efficiency in processes.
- Knowledge Sharing: Promote best practices and a culture of collaboration to enhance team effectiveness.

What you should bring to the role:
- PMO and Project Management Experience: Familiarity with Agile practices and financial/benefit tracking.
- Ideally, a PMO/Project Management experience within the utilities industry, large construction environment, military or regulatory organisation.
- RAID Management Expertise: Experience in risk and issue management methodology to monitor risks, threats, and opportunities effectively.
- Collaborative Mindset: A proactive problem solver who thrives on teamwork and alignment.
- Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and workload prioritisation to ensure deadlines are met.
- Process Improvement: A commitment to driving efficiency and innovation in ways of working.
- Excel Skills: Proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint.
