Housing Benefits Officer - London Borough of Harrow
Pay Rate: £27.92 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 6-9 months, with strong potential for extension
Location: Primarily remote - onsite attendance required once every 3 months
Start: ASAP

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking an experienced Housing Benefits Officer to join their team on a long term temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled assessor to support a high performing service while benefiting from predominantly home based working.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and process all types of Housing Benefit (HB) claims accurately and efficiently
• Manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision
• Ensure compliance with legislation, local policies, and performance targets
• Liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and claimants where required
• Attend the Harrow hub for occasional meetings or IT needs (approximately once every 3 months

Candidate Requirements

• Must be an experienced Housing Benefit Assessor
• Recent, hands on experience assessing all types of HB cases independently
• Ability to work confidently with minimal support
• Strong knowledge of HB legislation, systems, and best practice
