An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join an award-winning SME based in Leamington Spa.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing cost estimates for various projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the estimation process.   • Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm and Fridays 9:00am – 4:00pm (36.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare estimates
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender documents
  • Monitor and report on project costs and progress
  • Develop an understanding of systems, products, and services in order to quote projects accurately
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain prices
  • Contacting clients to discuss enquiries and quotations where required
  • Logging enquiries on an Excel database, maintaining and updating when necessary
  • Estimating small enquiries
  • Reading and understanding drawings
  • Document preparation, job raising and filing
  • Downloading enquiries and ascertaining project flooring requirements
  • Utilising Callidus measuring software

  • Adept at using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within a team
  • GCSE English, Maths, and Information Technology equivalent to grade C and above
