Job Description

Location: Kidderminster

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £45k - £50k per annum

Contract: Temporary (possibility of permanent contract) - Immediate start



We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to oversee health and safety compliance across the organisation. The successful candidate will help promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with current legislation, and support management teams in maintaining safe working environments. The role involves providing advice, delivering training, managing risk assessments and audits, and working with teams to improve health and safety standards.



The duties of a Health & Safety Manager:


    • Ensure overall compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, promoting a safe working culture.
    • Monitor developments in HSE and UK/EU legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly
    • Advise Directors and management on Health & Safety matters, including incident reporting and preventative measures
    • Work with management teams to review departmental procedures, records, and risk assessments to ensure complianc
    • Organise and deliver Health & Safety training, including inductions, first aid, fire safety, and IOSH.
    • Ensure all required safety equipment and PPE are available, maintained, and used correctly.
    • Conduct investigations into accidents and near misses, reporting findings and recommendations.
    • Manage Health & Safety audits, documentation reviews, and compliance checks.
    • Liaise with contractors, insurers, HSE, and local authorities to ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations.




The requirements of a Health & Safety Manager:


    • A relevant qualification in occupational health and safety, such as Masters, NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma.
    • Demonstratable experience of pro-active H&S management, anticipating and investigating risks and hazards in order to generate and deliver effective solutions.
    • Effective time management, identifying and acting on emerging priorities and changing workload.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work with a wide range of people, both internal and external.
    • Excellent investigative skills, discretion and sensitivity.
