Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £100 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? Do you have the resilience and sense of humour needed to engage with students in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting?

We are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist PRU in Stockton. This role is full-time and expected to continue until the end of the academic year and beyond. 

The Role

• Supporting students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, helping them to re-engage with education
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a structured and supportive environment
• Building positive relationships to foster trust and motivation
• Implementing behaviour management strategies and working closely with teaching staff and external professionals
• Providing emotional and academic support to help students progress

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working with young people in an education, care, or support setting
• Understanding of behaviour management, mental health needs, and neurological conditions
• A resilient nature, positive attitude, and a good sense of humour
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• The ability to adapt to challenging situations and support students with a wide range of needs

While previous experience in a PRU or alternative provision is beneficial, we welcome applicants with transferable skills from youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or similar backgrounds.
