Job Description
Are you an experienced English Teacher looking to take the next step in your teaching career? Have you considered teaching within alternative provisions? This outstanding Alternative Provision is looking to add an English Lead Teacher to the team, to manage a small team of English Teachers in delivering lessons that engage students who have been excluded from mainstream education.
As an English Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for tailoring the curriculum to meet the needs and abilities of students. You will also be teaching small classes of no more than 10 students at a time. This role requires an experienced English Teacher who is confident in their subject knowledge and classroom management.
The school has good facilities and achieves results that are above the national average for alternative provisions. Leadership is supportive and determined to ensure that every child gets a second chance to access an excellent education. This role requires a QTS English Teacher and is not suitable for an ECT.
Job Role:
- Managing a small team of English Teachers.
- Developing a curriculum that is accessible for students who have been excluded from mainstream education.
- Teaching English up to GCSE to classes of no more than 10 students.
- Managing classroom behaviours effectively.
- Monitoring the performance of other staff in the English Team.
- Planning schemes of work that are engaging and can be delivered by all English teachers.
- An English Lead role at an excellent alternative provision.
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
- Working closely with an experienced and supportive SLT.
- Early finish on a Friday.
- Freedom to plan and deliver lessons to meet the needs of students.
