Job Description
An alternative provision in Wolverhampton is seeking a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join their team. With outstanding lab facilities, a supportive department, and an engaging curriculum, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher who wants to deliver meaningful and practical lessons to students with SEMH needs.
As a Science Teacher in this setting, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons to small classes of secondary-aged learners, ensuring that students are both inspired and challenged. Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours. You will have access to high-quality resources, a well-equipped science department, and the full support of an experienced leadership team who are committed to staff development and student progress. This role requires a QTS or QTLS Science Teacher.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging science lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Using outstanding lab facilities and resources to deliver practical learning opportunities
- Supporting students with SEMH needs and managing behaviour effectively
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to maximise student progress
- Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that builds confidence and curiosity
- QTS and experience teaching science at secondary level
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (desirable)
- A passion for delivering practical and engaging science lessons
- The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their potential
