Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and supportive special school in Wolverhampton is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team, providing vital support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will be working with primary and secondary aged pupils, supporting both 1-2-1 and small group learning. Pupils have a variety of needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and complex learning needs. You will work alongside experienced teachers and other support staff to create an engaging and nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive and make progress.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing classroom support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Offering tailored 1-2-1 and small group interventions.
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Working closely with teachers and other Teaching Assistants to deliver personalised learning.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and a love of learning in all pupils.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a SEND setting.
- A calm, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with special needs.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
