Hair and Beauty Teacher – Part-Time – Alternative Provision – Birmingham
Are you a skilled Hair and Beauty Teacher looking for a rewarding part-time role? An Alternative Provision in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Hair and Beauty Teacher to deliver engaging and practical lessons to small groups of students. This position is part-time (1 or 2 days per week) and offers the opportunity to inspire young people who may not have thrived in mainstream education.

As a Hair and Beauty Teacher in this setting, you will plan and deliver hands-on sessions that equip students with valuable vocational skills, while also building their confidence and self-esteem. You will be supported by a strong leadership team and experienced staff who are passionate about helping students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs to achieve their potential.
Responsibilities include:

• Teaching Hair and Beauty to small groups of Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
• Planning engaging, practical lessons tailored to student interests and abilities.
• Creating a positive, structured, and safe learning environment.
• Supporting students’ personal development and employability skills.
• Working closely with colleagues to promote consistent progress.

The ideal candidate will have:

• QTS, QTLS or relevant vocational teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching or training in Hair and Beauty.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to engage students with SEMH needs.
• A patient, creative, and supportive teaching style.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed in vocational learning.
