Job Description
A specialist secondary school in South Birmingham is looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with challenging behaviours and helping them to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work with students on a one-to-one and small group basis, supporting them with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and positive engagement in learning. You will play a key role in building trust, setting clear expectations, and providing guidance to help students make positive choices.
Job Role:
- Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Building strong, positive relationships to encourage engagement and resilience.
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to support progress.
- Delivering targeted interventions to promote behaviour management and emotional regulation.
- Acting as a role model, promoting positive behaviour, and encouraging achievement.
- Previous experience working with young people who present challenging behaviours.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to managing situations.
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
- The ability to work as part of a supportive team and follow behaviour plans effectively.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed in education.
