Job Description
Are you a resilient and passionate Teacher who thrives on making a difference? This challenging yet rewarding SEMH primary school in South Birmingham is looking for an experienced Teacher to join their dedicated team. You will be teaching small groups of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver a creative and flexible curriculum that meets the individual needs of each pupil. The role requires strong behaviour management skills, a nurturing approach, and the ability to inspire learners who may have faced barriers to education. You’ll be supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and a leadership team that genuinely care about staff wellbeing and pupil success.
Job Role:
- Teaching a small class of primary-aged children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Using creative strategies to support emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement in learning.
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to promote progress and inclusion.
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour while fostering a nurturing and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Working in a school that values teamwork, compassion, and professional development.
