Job Description
As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be joining a supportive team of Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and support staff who are committed to providing every child with an outstanding education, regardless of the barriers that they face. You will be supporting a class teacher and working closely with a team of class Teaching Assistants to provide targeted support on an individual and group basis. Job Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to Key Stage 3/4 students with special educational needs
- Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Adapting learning materials and activities to ensure accessibility for all students
- Helping to create a positive and structured learning environment
- Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to promote student progress
- A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a special school setting
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A commitment to inclusion and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
