THE ROLE - HVAC PROJECT MANAGER
 
Position: HVAC Project Manager
Reports to:  Company Directors
Location: Office based in Kent and site attendance / visits where required
 
 
Overview of Role:
 
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join our established small business, serving clients from all sectors across the South East. This office-based role will require management of both commercial and domestic air conditioning and ventilation installations from survey to hand-over
 
They will be responsible for surveying and quoting new jobs, chasing sales leads, procurement, onsite management of engineers and ensuring Health & Safety legislations are adhered to.
 
Project Values up to £300k.
 
Job Description:
 
The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on experience of installing splits, multi splits and VRF systems on site.  More recently they will have been responsible for surveying, tendering, chasing leads, negotiating prices with clients and suppliers as well as managing installation engineers to ensure projects are completed right first time and in budget.
 
Previous experience of working with and installing MVHR systems would be an advantage but not essential.
 
The candidate must come with a current CSCS card and have a proven history of overseeing Health & Safety requirements on site and consideration of this during quotation stage.  
 
The candidate will be experienced in preparing quotes from consultant specifications / technical drawings but also able to survey and design their own systems from scratch. The candidate will be numerate, able to ensure that projects are completed profitably and within agreed timeframes.
 
The candidate must be organised, keep good records and be punctual. Excellent communication skills are a must.
 
 The candidate will work from the office based in Kent, with site surveys and site attendance when required. As we are a small business, the role will require a small degree of flexibility in supporting the Service Team during times of team absence / annual leave.  Main Responsibilities and Duties
  •  New Business Development; Responding to new enquiries in a timely manner 
  • Carrying out site surveys for all new enquiries
  • Chasing sales leads
  • Designing and quoting of VRF, multi-split and split systems.
  • Designing and quoting of MVHR and commercial ventilation systems 
  • The design and selection of suitable ductwork and grilles.
  • Building relationships with suppliers for the successful procurement of project equipment and materials, and organised approach to the sending of materials and equipment engineers to get the job done ‘first time’.
  • Effective management of both in-house and subcontractor installation teams.
  • Highly customer focussed to achieve excellent levels of client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for project documentation to enable timely monthly progress invoicing / project evaluations
  • Overseeing health & safety on site, issuing of RAMS, carrying out site inspections and toolbox talks.
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years managing projects from VRF installations down to small split / multi-split projects is essential.
  • Ideally will also have strong experience of project managing AHU projects including ductwork design.
  • Desirable, but not essential, is a good understanding of M&E, controls, ventilation systems, heating plant and BMS systems.
  • Previous practical and hands on installation experience is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge, communication skills and autonomy are important. 
  • Very strong IT skills, proficient in MS office
  • Good current knowledge of the latest products from all major manufacturers.
  • Ideally NVQ Level 3 qualified with evidence of ongoing Health & Safety training
  • A full driving license is essential.
 
SALARY & PACKAGE
  • Circa £45,000 – £50,000 per annum dependent on experience, 40 hours/week
