Pertemps are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a well-respected service in Honiton, supporting veterans and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is a temporary 5-month assignment, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.

The Role: You will work with a small caseload of 5 to 8 clients, allowing you to provide high-quality, person-centred support. Clients present with a range of moderate to high support needs, and you will be part of a larger, experienced team delivering holistic and solution-focused care.
Duties include:
  • Developing and maintaining individual support plans and risk assessments
  • Liaising with a variety of partner agencies, including mental health services, housing providers, benefit agencies, and training/employment organisations
  • Promoting independent living, helping clients achieve their personal goals and aspirations
  • Supporting clients with complex challenges, including mental health issues and substance misuse
  • Taking a positive approach to risk management
About You: We’re looking for someone with a β€œcan-do” attitude, a passion for supporting others, and the resilience to deal with challenging situations. Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential – we welcome applications from those with the right values and commitment.
You should demonstrate:
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable individuals (D)
  • Understanding of housing-related support (D)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of clients, including occasional work outside normal hours
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding, diversity and promoting independence
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
Desirable qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and valid safeguarding training.
