Could you be the steady, consistent support a pupil with autism and ADHD needs across the school day? Are you looking to build meaningful secondary SEN experience before moving into teacher training, educational psychology, or clinical psychology?
*** Graduate LSA

*** £85 - £100 per day
*** ‘Good’ secondary school, Willenhall
*** 1:1 support across the curriculum for a student with Autism and ADHD
The Role:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with autism and ADHD across the curriculum. You will help the pupil access learning, manage routines and transitions, stay engaged in lessons, and break tasks into smaller, manageable steps, while feeding back clearly to teachers and the SENCO. National SEND guidance expects schools to use a graduated approach to support, review impact, and help pupils with additional needs access learning effectively.
The Candidate:
You are calm, observant, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication. You want practical school-based experience, you can stay patient in a busy secondary setting, and you are keen to support a young person with additional needs in a structured mainstream environment.
Requirements
- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate. Child-facing school roles can be eligible for an Enhanced DBS check, and regulated activity roles can also include a Children’s Barred List check.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher or pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
The School:
This ‘Good’ secondary school in Willenhall has clear routines, supportive leadership, and a strong focus on inclusive practice. You will work closely with experienced staff in a setting that values structured support, practical guidance, and steady progress for pupils with additional needs. National careers guidance notes that support roles in schools commonly involve helping pupils with learning activities and working closely with teaching staff to support progress.
