Senior Civil Engineer (Main contracting)

RGB are recruiting on behalf of a Civil Engineering Main Contractor in their search to find the very best talent within the Southwest. On offer is the opportunity to join a large Highways Scheme in Devon on a permanent basis. 

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Engineer that has a full understanding of the technical requirements and techniques of setting out as well as being able to lead, mentor and coach an existing team. 


About the Role - As the experienced Senior Engineer, you will have the following duties:

• Play a pivotal role within the Project Management
• Take control of the Project site
• Coach an existing team of Setting out and Section Engineers
• Check technical drawings, specifications and reporting any issues to the engineering team.
• Ensuring that information is available on drawings in accordance with the programme.
• Report any inconsistencies in the information provided to the Project Manager
• Undertake Quantity take off for materials from drawings.
• Maintain a Daily site diary and carry out daily Health and Safety Inspections
• Raises any technical queries and liaise with designer to resolve
•  Ensure that all (ITP’s) are in place for all activities
• Produces/Reviews Method Statements and Risk Assessments & ensure that Safe Systems of Work are adhered to

 For this role its essential that you have a minimum of a HND and ideally Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering. As this role will be working on a live construction site you will also have a minimum of 5 years site experience as well as having a SSSTS / CSCS, SMSTS & First Aid certs.
