The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT to join a dedicated and supportive French department in a ‘Good’ secondary school. You will be responsible for teaching French across Key Stage 3 and 4, fostering a love for the language and culture. The role includes planning engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and managing a classroom effectively. As part of a strong department, you will receive the guidance and support needed to develop your skills as a teacher and progress through your ECT induction.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in French or a related field, and QTS (or be on track to achieve it by September 2025)
- Have a good understanding of the French curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4
- Be passionate about teaching French and motivating students to achieve their language learning goals
- Have strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of varying abilities
- Be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and share ideas and best practices
