English Teacher

We’re working with a well-regarded secondary school in Solihull to appoint a confident and engaging English Teacher for a long-term role starting in September. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that values creativity, celebrates literature, and places a strong emphasis on literacy across the curriculum.

The Role
You will teach English across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach A-Level if experienced. The role includes full teaching responsibilities: planning, marking, assessments, and involvement in departmental activities. The school follows a well-structured curriculum but values teachers who bring energy, originality, and a passion for texts and language.
You’ll join a welcoming and well-established English department with supportive colleagues and access to excellent resources.
 
The Candidate
This position is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers with strong placement feedback. You’ll need a solid grasp of the curriculum, strong classroom management skills, and a passion for helping all students engage with literature and develop their writing and communication skills.


You must have:
  • UK QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Ability to teach English to KS3 and KS4 (KS5 an advantage)
  • A confident, professional attitude and a proactive approach
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
