The Role
We are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Walsall. With both long-term and day-to-day opportunities, the role offers excellent flexibility for candidates looking to gain school-based experience or develop a career in education.
You’ll supervise classes during teacher absence, deliver pre-set lesson plans, and maintain a calm, focused learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff who want consistent work without the responsibility of planning or marking.
The Candidate
We’re looking for individuals who are:
- Confident managing behaviour in KS3 and KS4 classrooms
- Adaptable, reliable, and professional
- Able to communicate clearly and build rapport with students
- Calm under pressure and quick to respond to classroom needs
- Interested in gaining school experience or progressing into teaching
- Experience in schools is beneficial but not essential—training and guidance will be provided.

You’ll work across a network of supportive Walsall secondary schools known for their positive staff cultures and strong behaviour systems. Each school provides clear routines and expectations, ensuring you can step confidently into the classroom and deliver effective cover.
