The Role
An Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a skilled and adaptable Maths Teacher to join their team from March 2026 on a supply basis. This is a slightly different Maths role, focusing on Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, including delivery of Core Mathematics and BTEC Engineering-related maths content.
You will deliver engaging, applied lessons that help students understand how maths is used in real-world and vocational contexts. The role includes planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting learners working towards both GCSE and post-16 qualifications.
The school is looking for someone confident in making maths practical and accessible, particularly for students following vocational pathways.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or be an ECT
- Have experience teaching Maths at KS4, with the ability to support KS5 delivery
- Be confident delivering or willing to teach Core Maths and BTEC Engineering-related content
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and clear communication skills
- Be adaptable and able to engage students in applied and vocational maths learning
