Adult’s Social Worker, Head of Service, Blackpool 
Pay rate £550 per day 
Contract role, Local Authority Adult Services 
 We are recruiting for experienced Head of Service for Adult’s Social Work in the Blackpool area. 
Please note that this role requires a background in Qualified Social Care. 
 

• Blackpool Council is seeking an exceptional Project Lead to drive our Adult Social Care Improvement Plan and deliver on CQC Local Authority Assurance recommendations. This is a pivotal role, working across all areas of Adult Services and with a wide range of partners to deliver meaningful transformation for our community. 
• You’ll lead on the planning, implementation, and review of key projects, ensuring robust governance and timely delivery. Your expertise will help shape the future of Adult Services in Blackpool, supporting our vision of stronger communities and a thriving, resilient local economy. 

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Children’s First Partnership Hub (CFPH), including Early Help and MASH functions.
• Manage triage and screening of referrals, ensuring timely and evidence-based decision-making.
• Ensure statutory safeguarding duties are met in line with the Safeguarding Children’s Partnership threshold document.
• Lead multi-agency decision-making processes and ensure correct thresholds are applied.
• Supervise and support staff including Social Workers, CAROs, and Business Support Officers.
• Maintain high standards of information sharing and collaborative working with partner agencies.
• Champion strength-based and relationship-focused practice across the team.
• Provide management oversight of contact records and referrals, ensuring child-focused and safe decisions.
• Support quality assurance through audits and learning reviews.
