Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: PAYE: £31.71 per hour | Umbrella: £41.72 per hour

Are you a qualified Senior Social Work Practitioner with a passion for supporting children’s services? NRW People is excited to offer a temporary opportunity within Blaenau Gwent’s Children’s Services team, starting 29 September 2025. This 12-week role is based at our High Street office in Blaina, providing a chance to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families in the community.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead complex case reviews and assessments for children in need, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide expert supervision and guidance to social work teams, fostering professional development.
  • Develop and implement care plans, collaborating with multi-agency partners to deliver holistic support.
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery, contributing to continuous improvement in children’s services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with Social Services standards.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A qualified Social Worker with substantial experience in children’s services.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage challenging cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to safeguarding.
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Blaina, Blaenau Gwent.
Essential Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date CV.
  • 5 years of references/work history.
  • DBS Summary Form (to be submitted with application).
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement (required upon offer acceptance).
