Project CAD Coordinator – Pumping Stations

We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer to join our busy Pumping Stations department. Following a team reorganisation, this role focuses on Adoptable Pumping Stations, taking quoted designs and turning them into comprehensive technical drawing packs, submitting them for approval, and managing amendments through to final sign-off.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate accurate 2D AutoCAD mechanical drawings for pumping station projects.
  • Translate project quotes and concepts into fully detailed technical drawings and documentation.
  • Submit designs for approval to Local Water Authorities and manage amendments and revisions until final sign-off.
  • Provide technical support to clients and on-site, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with Local Water Authority specifications and Design & Construction Guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, project management, and service departments.
  • Maintain drawing libraries and documentation standards, ensuring consistency across projects.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Pumping Stations department.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in generating 2D AutoCAD mechanical drawings.
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge or experience within civil/industrial engineering projects.
  • Understanding of Local Water Authority requirements and water pumping station design standards (highly advantageous).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients and site teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a busy team.
Salary and Benefits:
  • £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience. Flexibility to work contracted hours over 4 days (subject to workload and manager approval).
  • 30 days holiday including statutory, rising to 33 days after 1 year.
