Qualified Social Worker - Duty Service

St. Helens MBC are currently recruiting an experienced adult’s Social Worker for their duty services.
 
St. Helens MBC operate hybrid working - However, there will be instances where employees are expected to be in the office for specific tasks or team days, as defined by the needs of the service.
 
The Duty Service responds to all referrals received from the MASH , and initiates all assessments and plans for children. The Duty Service has 4 teams , each with a team manager, assistant team manager and 6 social workers.  You will be on duty once every 4 weeks in which you will respond to referrals and complete assessments where necessary. The right candidate must have experience of managing CIN/CP and PLO work ,managing sec 47 investigations and be able to work at a fast pace.
 
The Duty Team is a short term team so once assessments are competed and a plan established , duty social workers will hold cases for a short term period on CIN with a view to step down, or where longer term support is required, and in cases of CP and PLO these will transfer at the first planning meeting.
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
