Position Overview:
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will engage students with a diverse curriculum, encouraging critical thinking and a passion for literature and language.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Assess, record, and report on students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the English curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Support students in their personal and academic growth, including providing pastoral care.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the education sector and implement best practices in teaching.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching English at a secondary level is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
